It’s important to us that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a day at Walton Hall and Gardens. We currently have a number of measures in place across the estate to make your visit to Walton as accessible as possible. You can find out more details on the measures we currently have in place below:

Mobility

  • We’re proud to be an accessible attraction, and we welcome many visitors with wheelchairs, mobility scooters and limited mobility every week.
  • Free disabled parking for blue badge holders for 3 hours
  • Accessible pathways throughout the estate
  • Our playground includes accessible apparatus
  • Our Adventure Golf course was designed in conjunction with Warrington Disability Partnership to ensure it is as accessible as possible for all
  • Fully accessible orienteering trail (course one)
  • Free wheelchair hire, operated on a first come, first served basis (cannot currently be pre-booked)
  • Accessible toilet facilities are available across the estate including at our entrance, by the playground and by Walton Hall itself. The accessible toilet located at our entrance is a Changing Places toilet.
  • Walton Hall has a lift, and ramps are also available for our front entrance.
  • The Old Riding School, Walton Hall Golf Club and our Glasshouses all have built in access ramps

For more information on accessibility at Walton, take a look at our review pages on Euan’s Guide and AccessAble.

Assistance dogs

As a dog friendly estate, all furry friends are welcome to join you on your visit, including assistance dogs.

Dogs are allowed everywhere except for our Children’s Zoo, however, Assistance Dogs are welcome inside the zoo after 2pm and be wearing a harness that clearly identifies them as an assistance dog.

Water bowls are available outside the Heritage Café, located in the Stables heritage courtyard.

Hidden disabilities and quiet hours

For visitors who prefer not to be here during our busier times we would recommend that you visit outside of the school holidays and weekends, particularly when the weather is nice.

Weekdays during term time and weekend mornings between 8am and 10.30am are generally our quieter spells.

Schools

If you’re joining us on a school visit and have any questions around support or accessibility, please contact us at waltonhallbookings@warrington.gov.uk.

Website accessibility

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website, so our website is compatible with screen readers, magnifiers and speech recognition software.
