Unfortunately, Walton Hall and Gardens has announced it has had to postpone tomorrow evening’s planned screening of Grease.

The event was due to take place in memory of the film’s star, Olivia Newton-John, and raise funds for St Rocco’s Hospice. It has instead been moved to the new date of Friday 19 May 2023.

“Following the forecast of severe weather conditions all day tomorrow, we have taken the difficult decision, in conjunction with the team at St Rocco’s, to postpone tomorrow night’s outdoor cinema event.

“The health and safety of our customers is our number one priority and we want to ensure everyone who has purchased a ticket enjoys the full experience that the Walton Hall and Gardens has to offer. Unfortunately, due to the extreme weather that is currently predicted, we feel it is unfair for our customers to go ahead with the event as planned.

“We hope many people can join us on the new date to enjoy a night of cinema under the stars within Walton’s beautiful grounds, all while helping a hugely important local charity.”

Cllr Tony Higgins, cabinet member for leisure and community

All current tickets will be immediately transferred to the new date next year. However, refunds are also available upon request via customer’s original Eventbrite booking confirmation email.

Following the refund process, a limited number of tickets for the rearranged date will also be available to purchase. Tickets are available via our events page.

All profits from ticket sales for this event are still going to St Rocco’s Hospice. They provide vital support for patients and local people every day.

“I can’t wait to see people come to Walton for what will be a fantastic evening, although later than originally planned, to watch this much-loved 70’s classic, knowing that all profits are going to such a fantastic and worthwhile cause.”
