The Realist Academy is owned by Louis Smith and was established due to a demand for a traditional academic approach to drawing and painting in the North West.
Currently, the academy offers sessions focussing on the fundamentals of portrait drawing and painting, with both traditional and modern approaches.
Louis himself is a classically trained portrait painter having studied in Florence for three years and has been shortlisted for several art prizes.
