Walton Hall and Gardens will reopen on Monday 1 June 2020 for people taking exercise and dog walkers.
Our phased reopening begins on Monday 1 June, with visitor access to some of the grounds, including the formal gardens, orchard and pond. Unfortunately, other facilities and attractions, such as the Children’s Zoo, play areas and the café will remain closed to ensure public safety. We’ll be reviewing this regularly, as per government guidelines.
Reopen
Warrington Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for leisure and community, Cllr Tony Higgins, said:
Walton Hall and Gardens is an important green space for our borough, so I’m pleased that the first steps are being taken in the safe reopening of the site to the public.
While we are not yet in a position to open the facilities and attractions, it’s good news that local people will once more be able to benefit from walks and exercise in the beautiful grounds, providing a boost to their health and wellbeing.

Car parking
Other public car parks in Warrington will see the reintroduction of charges from 1 June. As a result Walton Hall and Gardens standard parking charges will apply as normal from Monday 1 June.
We’d advise that you pay for your parking before you come to Walton Hall and Gardens via the Ringo App. Doing so will prevent people from congregating around the parking metres in the car park. If you haven’t downloaded the app, or can’t, you can call 01925950080, siting location number 18157.
Golf course
We remain in discussions about the reopening of the golf course, and we’ll update on a decision shortly.
